Bread on the surface...
Trow Pool is a small water and the carp will eventually come across your bait, but where you place it is important.
Simply lobbing your bread in the middle of a clear section of water may be successful. However, I prefer to position my bait on the edge of the weed, free lined as shown.
This forces the carp to take the bait "head on" where the hook is and the carp cannot be spooked by the line. Also by putting the bait near the weed you may stop the roach from nibbling at it.
