When the owners of Pedigree Chum launched their dog food on an unsuspected pet market, I'm sure that they didn't reckon on it becoming a favourite bait for anglers too!
Nowadays the sales of Pedigree Chum Mix have gone through the roof and it's not due to dog owners but anglers.
Today it's used as a surface bait, float bait or legered bait and its versatility means that it can be stored for months in the rucksack!
Chum mix is great at Trow Pool under a number of presentations - see picture. (1) glued to mix, (2) hooked through mix, (3) rubber band and (4) on a hair-rig. I sometimes glue or present two or three mixes together to make a more appetising bait for the carp.
You can also colour and flavour the mix, email me and I'll spill the beans!
