Favourite food: bottom feeding in winter but in summer will rise to seize insects on the water surface
Baits: bread, sweet corn and maggots

Roach is a sociable shoal fish and you can easily spot their shoals as they patrol a regular beat; inspecting the water plants and weeds.
Roach feed mainly on the bottom in shallow water and out of the bright light. Use small hooks (greater than 14) and line should be greater than 3 lb.
