This is a Buff-Tailed Bumble Bee (Bombus terrestris) that I captured with my camera on
6 June 2008.
Very common and widspread and easily recognised by its broad buffish yellow bands.
Hibernates over winter and the female appears in April and visits flowers on sunny days.
Look out for it at Trow Pool in the summer months.
